Josh Duhamel, Ernie Hudson Suit Up For ‘The Wrong Stuff’

Posted by Staff in Mar 01,2015 with No Comments

Josh Duhamel and Ernie Hudson, who last worked together opposite Hilary Swank and Loretta Devine in the ensemble drama You’re Not You from eOne, are coming together again in the baseball drama The Wrong Stuff, based on the bestselling memoir by ex-pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee and Richard Lally. The film is being directed by Brett Rapkin and produced by Stephen Nemeth, co-produced by Betsy Stahl and executive produced by Ron Shelton (White Men Can’t Jump) and Eric Gagne. Rapkin also penned the script. Shooting is expected to begin next week in Los Angeles.

Set in the 1980s, the film chronicles the downward spiral of Major League pitcher Lee, a hot-tempered, self-serving madman unable to see himself as anything other than a baseball player. Duhamel is cast as the volatile Lee. Hudson will portray Joe, the only black player and first baseman for the all-white, French Canadian Longeuil Senators amateur club. Hudson’s character, an experienced player with 30 years in the sport, is the stabilizing force on the scrappy team.

Duhamel starred in several of the Transformers films and also stars in the CBS crime drama series Battle Creek, which premieres Sunday. Hudson is best known, perhaps, for his turn in the beloved comedy Ghostbusters. [Source]

People across the country can join PEDIGREE and Josh by sharing their transformation story of how their dog became their pet, using #DogTales on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and PEDIGREE will donate a bowl of food to a shelter dog in need (up to 100,000 bowls). Arrgh! Josh Duhamel Stars in Jake and the Never Land Pirates

Posted by Staff in Jan 04,2014 with No Comments

Ahoy, matey: Josh Duhamel is teaming up with a band of pirates! The actor (and new dad!) is lending his voice as Captain Flynn in the season three premiere of Disney’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates, airing Friday at 8:30 a.m. EST on the Disney channel.

In the episode, Captain Flynn finds his ship stuck in the sand and enlists the help of Jake and the gang to search for the magical staff that will set him free. But before they find their buried treasure, the pint-size marauders must go up against a pirate mummy (Jack McBrayer).

We have no doubt Axl Jack will get a kick out of hearing his dad’s voice on the hit show one day, but according to Duhamel’s wife Fergie, their 4-month-old baby boy seems to be following in his musical mama’s footsteps.

“He starts kicking and he’s smiling, and he tries to make noise and sing along. It’s amazing. He loves our songs!” Fergie told PEOPLE in November.

Duhamel Checks Out His Latest Investment

Posted by Staff in Nov 25,2013 with No Comments

We told you yesterday about the old Sweetheart Bakery in Bismarck opening up under a new name, Sixteen03 Main Events.

One of the main investors is movie star Josh Duhamel. The actor is back in his home state for a quick tour of the new venue and a soft opening later this evening. Sixteen03 Main Events is similar to one he’s a part of in Minot, but this venue is much larger and will be used in a different manner.

“And what I love about it is it’s not your typical structure. It’s the old Sweetheart Bakery, and a lot of the stuff they had when they used to bake bread and everything else is still downstairs.  So, they’ve repurposed a lot of that for decoration or found another use for it in this place, which makes it feel a little more authentic,” says Duhamel.

Duhamel’s sister is also an investor with Sixteen03 Main Events. [Source]

Josh Duhamel and Rosamund Pike Team for Psychological Thriller “French Window”

Posted by Staff in May 21,2013 with No Comments

Josh Duhamel and Rosamund Pike will star in “French Window”, described as an erotic psychological thriller, according to Screen Daily.

The two will play a young couple who embark on a home exchange with a couple in Paris but miss their flight, leading them to spy on their French houseguests, with “fascination and attraction [escalating] into a deadly game of cat and mouse.” Joe Ahearne will direct the film that is said to be in the vein of “Match Point” and “Closer.”

Former soap opera star Duhamel recently became the latest Nicholas Sparks leading man when he starred opposite Julianne Hough in “Safe Haven.” Pike, who’s known for “Pride and Prejudice”, “An Education” and more, recently wrapped Nick Hornby adaptation “A Long Way Down” as well as Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy conclusion “The World’s End.” [Source]

Safe Haven Will Hit Blu-ray And DVD In May

Posted by Staff in Apr 11,2013 with No Comments

Today, you can hear the smooth, silky voice of Josh Duhamel narrating the underwater documentary Planet Ocean, or you can just hang out for a few weeks while Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment puts together the Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download release of Safe Haven, a romance film based on a novel by—you guessed it—Nicholas Sparks. Safe Haven will hit the aforementioned mediums on May 7.

The nicely paced book by Sparks is a little more hurried when played out onscreen in Lasse Hallström’s film by Duhamel and actress Julianne Hough. The film follows a newcomer (Hough) to a small town who attracts the interest of a widower, Alex (Duhamel). The two begin to spend time together until a dark secret threatens to come between them.

If you’ve caught the flick, you’ll know the secret’s not much of a secret, although the film does offer an oddball plot twist. Overall, however, there’s no denying the chemistry Duhamel and Hough are able to achieve onscreen. For a popcorn of a flick, the film offers enough reasons for romance lovers, at least, to watch. Plus, if you are already know you liked the movie and are planning to buy Safe Haven, the Blu-ray bonus features, especially, are worthy of a perusal. You can check out the full list of extras, below. [Source]

Fergie pregnant – expecting first child with Josh Duhamel

Posted by Staff in Feb 19,2013 with No Comments

Fergie has announced a new pea joining the pod.

The 37-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer tweeted the exciting news this afternoon.

“Josh 7 Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump” She included a photoshopped image of herself and husband Josh Duhamel as toddlers.

It will be the first child for the couple, who married in January 2009. The two have often talked about wanting to expand their family.

Duhamel, 40, said he hoped to one day have five children, but Fergie lowered his expectations.

“We negotiated that early on,” she said during an October 2012 appearance on Oprah’s Next Chapter. “Two is our number.” [Source]
