Actor Josh Duhamel new ‘voice’ for N.D. tourism

Posted by Staff in Jan 08,2014 with No Comments

Actor Josh Duhamel, a Minot native, is the new voice behind North Dakota’s 2014 tourism campaign.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple and tourism Director Sara Otte Coleman announced the campaign Tuesday at Sixteen03 Main Events, a former bakery on Bismarck’s Main Avenue that has been converted into a banquet and meeting center.

Duhamel has a financial interest in the business.

Otte Coleman said the actor agreed to provide the narration for six television ads for $6,600 per spot and did a video promo for the ads from his home in Los Angles that was released Tuesday.

Otte Coleman said this year’s campaign will continue to build on the “Legendary” theme the state has been using for more than a decade.

That successful campaign strategy, which has played on the state’s history and culture, has a new meaning with the recent national attention for a strong economy and energy boom. Read the rest of this entry »

Arrgh! Josh Duhamel Stars in Jake and the Never Land Pirates

Posted by Staff in Jan 04,2014 with No Comments

Ahoy, matey: Josh Duhamel is teaming up with a band of pirates! The actor (and new dad!) is lending his voice as Captain Flynn in the season three premiere of Disney’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates, airing Friday at 8:30 a.m. EST on the Disney channel.

In the episode, Captain Flynn finds his ship stuck in the sand and enlists the help of Jake and the gang to search for the magical staff that will set him free. But before they find their buried treasure, the pint-size marauders must go up against a pirate mummy (Jack McBrayer).

We have no doubt Axl Jack will get a kick out of hearing his dad’s voice on the hit show one day, but according to Duhamel’s wife Fergie, their 4-month-old baby boy seems to be following in his musical mama’s footsteps.

“He starts kicking and he’s smiling, and he tries to make noise and sing along. It’s amazing. He loves our songs!” Fergie told PEOPLE in November.

Josh Duhamel: Fergie and I ‘Definitely’ Want Another Baby

Posted by Staff in Dec 12,2013 with No Comments

Axl Jack is going to be a big brother! That’s the plan, at least.

Josh Duhamel revealed to omg! that he and wife Fergie would love to have another baby.

“Yeah, I think we definitely want [more kids],” Josh told us on Friday at the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies luncheon in Beverly Hills. “Especially after as well as this one has gone — the pregnancy, and now that we have this beautiful little boy, we both definitely want to have another one.

“There’s no rush,” the 41-year-old actor added. “Whenever it happens, it happens.”

Axl Jack is now 3 months old and already a “genius” according to his beaming father.

“He’s reading!” Duhamel joked. “Three months, that’s pretty early! I mean, I have to read him the book and he kind of spits up and loses interest after a minute, but other than that he’s reading.”

As for baby’s first Christmas, Josh revealed he and Fergie, 38, are “sticking around here and keeping it simple.”

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.

“Events like this really make you understand and appreciate, not only the fact that we were blessed to have a healthy baby, but your heart goes out to those who aren’t as fortunate,” Josh explained. “I felt compelled to be here.”

Duhamel certainly had quite the charitable weekend.

On Sunday, he and Fergie had date night in Los Angeles, stepping out for TrevorLIVE at the Hollywood Palladium.

Although little Axl stayed home, he was always on Josh and Fergie’s mind … and cell phones! The proud parents shared photos and stories with their famous pals, like Kathy Griffin and Adam Shankman, at the event, which benefited the Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to the young LGBTQ community. Duhamel Checks Out His Latest Investment

Posted by Staff in Nov 25,2013 with No Comments

We told you yesterday about the old Sweetheart Bakery in Bismarck opening up under a new name, Sixteen03 Main Events.

One of the main investors is movie star Josh Duhamel. The actor is back in his home state for a quick tour of the new venue and a soft opening later this evening. Sixteen03 Main Events is similar to one he’s a part of in Minot, but this venue is much larger and will be used in a different manner.

“And what I love about it is it’s not your typical structure. It’s the old Sweetheart Bakery, and a lot of the stuff they had when they used to bake bread and everything else is still downstairs.  So, they’ve repurposed a lot of that for decoration or found another use for it in this place, which makes it feel a little more authentic,” says Duhamel.

Duhamel’s sister is also an investor with Sixteen03 Main Events. [Source]

Josh Duhamel: I Got Ryan Seacrest’s Approval Before Intimate Scene With Julianne Hough

Posted by Staff in Feb 14,2013 with No Comments

Don’t worry, Ryan Seacrest! Josh Duhamel is not trying to steal your woman. The handsome actor visited the TODAY show Tuesday, Feb. 12 and revealed he had an uncomfortable talk with the E! host about the romantic scenes he shares with his girlfriend, Julianne Hough, in the new film Safe Haven.

Though several costars who have starred in the movies based on Nicholas Sparks’ novels have ended up dating in real life — Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus — Duhamel, who has been married to Fergie for four years, assured Seacrest that would not be their case.

“It was out of respect for him and his relationship with her, mostly,” Duhamel, 40, explained of his decision to chat face-to-face with Seacrest, 38. “These movies are very intimate and I just wanted to say, ‘Listen, you don’t have to worry about anything,'” he said. “Ryan was more cool with it than I was. It was an awkward conversation, to say the least. I created something that I didn’t need to.”

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Hough, 24, said she wasn’t worried about Seacrest, her boyfriend of nearly three years, seeing her kissing scenes with Duhamel. But, she joked, “Kissing scene not so much, maybe the other scene . . . no, he’s cool with it.”

And Duhamel insists the film, which opens in theaters on Valentine’s Day, is more than just a chick flick. The actor, who admitted to crying a lot during Sparks’ The Notebook, explained, “It’s very much a thriller, as much a romantic movie.” [Source]
